Intermezzo: Tony beim Rettungshubschrauber

 

Der Rettungshubschrauber Christoph 14 ist stationiert am Klinikum Traunstein von wo er aus ein 60km großes Einsatzgebiet abdeckt.

Die Besatzung des Rettungshubschraubers besteht aus einem Piloten der Bundespolizei, einem Notarzt und einem Rettungsassistenten. Nach der Alarmierung ist der Hubschrauber nach ca. 2 Minuten in der Luft zum Einsatzort.

Tony

Tony war diese Woche zu besuch beim Rettungshubschrauber Christoph 14 in Traunstein. Er war fasziniert von all den Knöpfen, Monitoren und Technik aber auch davon was die Besatzung so leistet. 60km Einsatzradius um Traunstein. Normale Rettungseinsätze sowie Berg- und Wasserrettungseinsätze gehören zu den Aufgaben des Rettungshubschrauber.

This week Tony got to visit the rescue helicopter Christoph 14 in Traunstein. He was fascinated by all the buttons, monitors and technology, but also on what the crew can accomplish. 60km radius around Traunstein. Normal rescue and mountain and water rescue operations, are the tasks of the rescue helicopter.

Tidy

Ab sofort wird bei uns alles ganz genau unter die Lupe genommen. Ich muss also in Zukunft noch gründlicher putzen, Tidy inspiziert nun JEDE Ritze bei uns.

Harrison

Einige Tage wartet Harrison im Hotel auf Jane. Als er nichts von ihr hört, beschließt er, sich auf den Weg zu machen. An einem warmen Frühlingstag, endlich bei strahlendem Sonnenschein, packt er seinen Koffer, um Italien zu verlassen. Vor ihm liegen neue, ungewisse Abenteuer.

Harrison waits for Jane in the hotel for a few days. But when he does not hear from her, he packs his suitcase and, on a warm day in spring, finally in bright sunshine, decides to get on this way. New, undiscovered adventures lie in his future.

Nio

Oh Hallo, wer bist denn du? Nio hatte diese Woche ein Treffen der ganz besonderen Art: die hübsche, mehrfarbige Katzendame Kimi war etwas skeptisch, aber durchaus interessiert. Endlich jemand zum kuscheln an den letzten kalten Wintertagen, hofft er. Aber da muss er sich noch ordentlich ins Zeug legen bis sie ihm endgültig vertraut.

Oh hello, who are you? Nio had a very special get-together this week: the pretty, multicolored cat lady Kimi was a little askant but also intrigued. Finaly someone to cuddle with for the last cold days of winter he hopes. But he will have to work on this a little bit more until she trusts him.

Zach

Bloß gut, dem Zahn gehts wieder gut. Zach durfte sich was zu Essen wünschen und er entschied sich für F L E I S C H. Also habe ich Lende mit Pfefferrahmsauce gemacht... Voller Vorfreude stand er an der Pfanne. Und danach ....Yummy.

Thank God, the tooth is well again. Zach could decide what we would eat and his decision was  MEAT. So I made loins in pepper cream sauce... Full of joy and anticipation he was standing next to the pan. And afterwards.... Yummy!

Lilly

Lilly begleitete mich diese Woche zur Malschule und war sofort begeistert von unseren Arbeiten. Ich erklärte ihr was Acryl- und Ölfarben sind und nicht so viel später, spürte ich sie förmlich neben mir trampeln. „Darf ich auch mal?“, fragte sie mich und ihre Augen glänzten mit Vorfreude und Neugierde. Ich zog ihr schnell was über, damit sie sich nicht dreckig macht (wie man sieht, war das auch bitter nötig) und ab ging die Post! Als sie fertig war, half ich ihr beim Reinigen der Pinsel und als wir wieder kamen. Oje, was soll ich sagen? Jemand hatte auf ihr Bild gekleckst! Mit roter Farbe!! Lilly war geschockt… Wer war das? Jemand von euch??

Lilly joined my painting session this week and was instantly excited. I told her about acrylic and oil colours and soon I felt her fluttering beside me. “May I try?”, she asked and her eyes held so much anticipation and curiosity. We put on some clothes so she won’t get colour allover her (and as you see, that was quite necessary!) and so she started. When she was finished I helped her clean up the brushes and when we came back… oh,dear… what should I say? Somebody blobbed red paint on her masterpiece! Lillywas shocked… Who did this? Did any of you??

Nio

Nio begreift nicht warum Bert der Schneemann ihn nicht nach drinnen begleiten möchte, dort ist es doch viel gemütlicher und wärmer! Erst als die Sonne rauskommt und der Schnee um ihn herum langsam schmilzt versteht er, warum sich sein neuer Kumpel gar nicht auf den Fühling freut. Aber noch ist ja etwas Zeit bis dahin und als Nio nach Hause kommt, räumt er mir kurzerhand die Kühltruhe aus und macht Platz für unseren neuen Sommergast. ;-)

Nio can't understand why Bert the snowman doesn't want to go indoors whith him. But when sun comes out and the snow starts to melt slowly, he get's the point, why his new buddy doesn't look forward to springtime. But it's not over jet and when Nio came home, he immediately empties my freezer for our new summer guest! ;-)

Tidy

Nach den aufregenden Karnevalstagen, kehrt nun endlich wieder Ruhe in unseren Alltag. Da haben wir uns doch glatt mal ein Wellness-Wochenende gegönnt, mit ausgiebigem Schaumbad und Duftkerzen.

After some exciting days at carnival, it’s time now to relax and to get back into the daily routine. That’s why we thought a wellness weekend with a nice foam bath and perfumed candles would be the perfect start, what do you think?

Zach

Mein armer kleiner Liebling hat seit letztem Sonntag wahnsinnige Zahnschmerzen. Ich wollte mit ihm schon zum Notdienst fahren, aber ich konnte ihn nicht überreden sein Kuschelbett zu verlassen. So haben wir also den Sonntag mit kalten Umschlägen und Tabletten überbrückt und Montag früh sind wir gleich zum Zahnarzt gefahren. Da wurde dem armen Wicht ein Zahn aufgebohrt und die Nerven gezogen... böse Wurzelentzündung. Inzwischen geht es ihm wieder gut, aber wir müssen in 3 Wochen noch hin, um die Wurzelbehandlung zu machen.

Since last sunday my poor little darling has toothaches. Immendiately I wanted to drive to the emergeny room with him, but I could not talk him out of his cuddely bed. That's why we stayed home all of Sunday with icepacks and pills. Early next monday morning we drove to the dentist. There a tooth was drilled out and the nerves were extracted for the poor little one... bad root inflamation. Meanwhile he is doing well again, but we have to go back there in 3 weeks and get another treatment.

Tony

Diese Woche war Tony ein sehr große Hilfe in der Arbeit. Ich musste zwei neue Server in unser Firmennetz integrieren und Tony half mir diese ins Netzwerk zu bringen. Er war ziemlich fix beim Verkabeln. Wie man merkt, lässt er sich noch nicht so gern Fotografieren nach seinem Faschings Absturz. :)

This week, Tony was a really big help at work. I had to add two new servers in our company network and Tony helped me to integrate them. He was pretty quick laying the cables. As you may see he doesn't feel so good in front of the camera just yet after his carnival drinking orgy last week.

Lilly

Lilly begleitet mich auf Schritt und Tritt. Sie ist immer an meiner Seite und Eindrücke von Plakaten oder anderen Dingen in der Stadt prasseln regelrecht auf sie ein. Daher wundert es mich nicht sehr, dass sie in der Nähe meines Lieblingskinos etwas von einem Plakat aufgeschnappt hat. Aber davon wusste ja noch garnichts... Da komme ich doch einen Abend mal nach Hause und Lilly läuft schnurstracks zum Wollkorb. Auf die Frage, was sie denn dort mache, antworte sie nur mit einem kleinen verschwörerischen Grinsen. Ich kümmerte mich um ein paar Dinge und als ich wieder nach ihr sehen wollte, konnte ich sie nicht finden. Wo war sie denn nun schon wieder? Ich lief in den Garten und dann sprang sie mir als kleiner Tiger entgegen! „Rooaaarrrrrrrrr“, rief sie und konnte sich ein Kichern nicht verkneifen. „Was ist denn hier los? – Fasching ist doch schon vorbei!?“, fragte ich sie lachend. „Ich möchte, dass du mit mir in 'Life of Pi' gehst.“, druckste sie rum. Wie sollte ich ihr den Wunsch abschlagen können?

Lilly follows me everywhere and is always by my side. Naturally she sees a lot of things or flyers or posters in the city. That's why I wasn't that surprised that she saw something near my favorite cinema on a poster. But I didn't know that just yet... When I came home one evening, she walked straight to the basket with wool. When I asked her, what she was doing she simply smiled. I was busy for a while when I was finished I wanted to have a look again. What was she up to? But I couldn't find her in my room. I walked into the garden then and she sprang at me as a little tigress! "Rooaaarrrrrr", she roared and giggled at the same time. "What is this? Carnival is over!?", I asked her with a big smile on my lips. "I would like you to watch "Life of Pi" with me", she told me hestiantly. How could I ever refuse her?

Harrison

Harrison schlägt die Augen auf und dreht sich zu Jane um. Aber das Bett neben ihm ist leer. Ihr zerdrücktes Kissen liegt verlassen da und ist schon kalt. Er hätte es wissen müssen. Er konnte ihr nicht trauen. Durch halb Europa war er zu ihr gereist und wollte sie retten. 
Sie hatte gesagt, dass Männer in grauen Mänteln ihr folgten. Dass sie Angst hatte und dass die Männer schon zwei Mal versucht haben, sie zu entführen. Und dann verschwindet sie einfach aus dem Bett? Oder hatten sie Jane jetzt doch entführt? 
Harrison liegt noch eine Weile da und grübelt. Ein Teil von ihm hofft, dass sie noch zurückkommt. Ein anderer Teil von ihm weiß, dass das nicht geschehen wird.

Harrison opens his eyes and turns to Jane. But the bed next to him is empty. Her wrinkeled pillow is lonely and cold already. He should have known, he could not trust her. He followed her through half of Europe to safe her.
She had said that men in grey suits followed her around. That she was afraid and that these men had tried to kidnap her at two occasions. And then she just plain dissapears from the bed? Or did they now really kidnap Jane? 
Harrison lies there for another while and thinks. One part of him still hopes that she will come back. Another part of him knows, that that will not happen.

Making-Of: Karneval in Venedig

Ich habe mich getraut, und ein Composing präsentiert. Dabei bin ich gar nicht der Photoshopper. Aber man muss sich ja mal an Neues wagen.

I was daring and presented a composing. I am not even the photoshopping type, really. But I do have to try new things.

Vor 2 Jahren waren wir in Venedig. Dort entstanden natürlich viele Fotos. Dieses hier habe ich dann für Harrisons Karneval-Feier ausgesucht:

Two years ago we were in Venice. Of course we took many photos. This is the one I chose for Harrisons carnival celebration:

Dann habe ich Harrison und Jane verkleidet. Ein alter Fundus an Barbie-Outfits hat Janes Kleid bereitgehalten. Andere "Zubehörstücke" für Jane stammen ebenfalls aus Barbie-Zubehör. 

Harrison trägt seinen handgenähten weißen Leinenanzug mit Stil und läßt sich mit einem Cape in Karnevalsstimmung bringen.

I then dressed up Harrison and Jane. An old collection of Barbie-Outfits was holding Janes dress. Other accessories for Jane were also from Barbie stuff.

Harrison wears his handsewn white suit and was transformed into carnival mood by a black cape I made him.

Masken habe ich zuerst für beide aus Blechfolie gemacht. Die Maske für Jane habe ich mit viel Kleinarbeit bemalt und mit einer Feder verziert - und dann habe ich die Maske nach Testbildern verworfen. Stattdessen habe ich eine "echte" venezianische Maske benutzt.

I made masks from some thicker metal foil first. The mask for Jane I did decorate with a lot of efford in painting and decorating with a feather - and then after some test shoots I discarded the mask. Instead I used a "real" Venetian mask.

Auch dieses Bild habe ich in Venedig gemacht:

Diese Maske habe ich in Photoshop freigestellt und dann teils umgefärbt.

Die umgefärbte und leicht verzerrte bzw. entzerrte Maske habe ich dann passend skaliert. 

This mask I selected in photoshop, and then recolored it partially.

The recolored and partially morphed mask I sized it for printing.

Diese Maske habe ich dann ausgedruckt. Danach habe ich sie mit einer kleinen Schere ausgeschnitten. Anschließend habe ich die Maske mit Uhu-Pads auf Janes Gesicht befestigt. Es ist kein Wunder, dass sie an dem Abend mit Harrison kaum gesprochen hat. Angesichts des Klebepads wäre ihr das kaum gelungen.

Fotografiert habe ich die beiden vor grauem Studiohintergrund, damit ich sie nachher leichter montieren kann. Von der Seite gesehen, sieht das dann so aus - mit der Maske in 2D.

I finally printed this mask onto photopaper. After that I cut it out with fine scissors. I continued by sticking the mask to Jane's face by sticky pads. It's no surprise that she hardly spoke a word with Harrison all night since the sticky pad was keeping her from it.

I took the photo of the two of them infront of grey studio background paper, so that the composing would be easier afterwards. These are the two of them seen from the side. With the mask in 2D.

Die beiden habe ich dann wieder freigestellt und in das Hintergrundbild hineinmontiert.

Wer mitgezählt hat, weiß jetzt: Ich habe die Maske 3-fach freigestellt: Mit Photoshop, dann mit der Schere und dann wieder mit Photoshop. Ich gebe zu, die Maske digital einzufügen, hätte das Leben leichter gemacht. Aber warum sollte es denn leicht sein?

If you kept count you will know by now: I selected the mask 3 times: With photoshop, with the scissors and then with photoshop again. I do admit that it would have been easier to enter the mask in photoshop after the fact. But why should I take the easy path?

Intermezzo: Kostümanprobe bei Zach

Bei mir läuft jeden Tag die Serie "Big Bang Theorie" und ratet mal, wer da aufmerksam neben mir auf der Couch sitzt und sich manchmal vor Lachen nicht halten kann. Ja natürlich ... Zach. In der Beziehung liegen wir echt auf einer Wellenlänge. Als dann die Faschingszeit vor der Tür stand, war es außer Frage, dass Zach sich als Nerd verkleiden wollte. Hmm, aber woran macht man den nur fest? Nur Insider der Serie hätten mit dem Kostüm Dopplereffekt was anfangen können, naja und Flash wäre sicher nicht mit Nerd in Verbindung gebracht worden. Als wir dann den Rechner entdeckt hatten, war die Freude groß. Also flux bestellt und schon 2 Tage später war das Kostüm da. Zach war sowas von aus dem Häuschen... Päckchen aufgerissen und ins Kostüm geschlüpft und gleich ab ins Gästebad. Und hier ist er... mein kleiner Nerd beim Posen.

Every day I watch "The Big Bang Theory" and guess who is on the couch next to me, all eager, and sometimes loses it with laughter. Yes, of course... Zach. In this respect we are really on the same wave length. When carnival time came around, it was no question that Zach would dress up as a nerd. Hmm, how do you make this visible, though? Only insiders to the show could have made sense of the costume with the Doppler Effect, and, well, Flash would have not been asociated with "nerd". When we discovered the computer costume we were besides ourselves. So, we ordered it right away and it was just two days until the costume arrived. Zach was extatic... ripp open the package, slip into the costume and off to the guest bathroom. And here he is... my little Nerd posing.

Woche 7 - So war die Faschingszeit!

Ja, auch unsere kleinen Freunde haben ordentlich Fasching gefeiert!

Zach liebt die Serie "The Big Bang Theorie" und ging deswegen im Fasching als kleiner Computernerd!

Lilly

Karneval und rote Nasen. Aber nicht überall gibt es Clowns. Lilly hat ehrlich gesagt etwas Schwierigkeiten mit Clowns, auch wenn sie zugeben muss, das Tidy sehr fesch aussieht mit seiner kleinen Nase. Als wir uns diese Woche mit dem Thema Karneval auseinander setzten ging es auf und ab. Mal hatten wir ein Kostüm, dann wieder keins. Aber dann hatten wir DIE Idee: Karneval in Rio, Sambadrom und wunderschöner Federschmuck. Das musste Lilly sofort haben und ließ dann auf ihrem eigenen Wagen die Puppen tanzen!

Carnival and red noses butnot everywhere you have clowns. To be honest, Lilly has her difficulties withclowns, but she also insisted that Tidy looks rather cute with his little nose,don’t you think? When we started to think about this week’s theme we had somany ups and downs. Sometimes we had a costume, next day we didn’t like itanymore. But finally we had THE idea: Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Sambadrom andbeautiful feathery head pieces and wings! Lilly had to have one of those andfinally she had a hell of a party!

Nio

Im Fasching hat sich Nio durch alle Buffets und Krapfenpyramiden gefuttert die er finden konnte... was zur Folge hatte, dass er dann erstmal ein paar Tage mit Bauchweh umsorgt werden musste - von wegen "ein Indianer kennt keinen Schmerz", jaja!

During carnival, Nio ate his way through all buffets and bismarck piles he could find... accordingly he has been taken care of some days with bellyache - "an indian feels no pain" or so they say! ;-)

Harrison

 

Harrison und Jane bekommen vom Feiern nicht genug. Und weil sie in Venedig unterwegs sind, haben sie natürlich auch den Karneval dort nicht ausgelassen. Jane fühlt sich sicher, weil sie eine Maske tragen kann. Noch hat sie Harrison nicht erzählt, warum sie in Gefahr ist. Und es scheint auch nicht, als würde sie es heute Nacht tun.
Als sie um vier Uhr morgens über den Markus Platz eilen, vorbei am Dogenpalast und zu den Gondeln hin, ist es ihm egal. Früher oder später wird sie es ihm erzählen. Außer ihnen ist niemand mehr unterwegs. Venedig, denkt er, ist eine tolle Stadt. Jedenfalls, wenn man feiern will.

Harrison and Jane just can't stop to party. And since they are in Venice they did not skip the carneval there. Jane feels safe because she can wear a mask. She did not yet tell Harrison why she is in danger. And it does not seem like she will tell him tonight.
As they hurry over Sait Marcus Square past the Palazo Ducale and over to the gondolas, he did not care. Sooner or later she would tell him. No one is in the streets anymore at this hour. Venice, he thinks, is a phantastic town. At least when you want to party.

Tidy

"Wattsche Hellau", heißt es bei uns in Wattenscheid an Karneval. Die Narren sind los und die ganze Stadt feiert. So auch unser kleiner Freund Tidy, fast einen ganzen Tag haben wir im Spielzeugladen verbracht um ein standesgemäßes Kostüm für Ihn zu finden. Als dieses dann nach langem hin und her ausgewählt war ging es zum Karnevalsumzug und anschließend zum Kinderkarneval. Für die "Großen" ist er einfach zu klein, zwischen den ganzen kleinen Cowboys, Prinzessinen und Funkemariechen fühlte Tidy sich richtig wohl und hat schnell Freundschaft mit anderen kleinen Clowns geschlossen. Wir freuen uns schon auf´s nächste Jahr und verabschieden uns mit einem kräftigen "WATTSCHEEEE HELLAAAAAAUUUUUUUU!"

„Wattsche Hellau“ we sayhere in Wattenscheid during carnival. The carnival revellers are around and thewhole city is partying as well as our little friend Tidy. Nearly a whole day wespend at the toy store to find the perfect costume for him. After a long timeof choosing we finally had it and went straight to the carnivals parade and afterthat to the kid’s carnival. He was simply too small for the party of the “bigones” but among little cowboys, princesses and “Funkemariechen”, Tidy feltquite at home and became fast friends with other little clowns. We are alreadylooking forward to next year’s carnival with a big “WATTSCHEEEEHELLAAAAAAUUUUUUU!”
